Saffron Valley Indian Restaurants & Catering has been part of the Salt Lake City, UT community for almost 10 years now. Sharing the food and flavors of our culture is our passion, and it’s truly our pleasure to bring fresh Indian food to Salt Lake Valley.

Whether you’re looking for authentic dosa in the Avenues, Indian Street Food favorites like samosas and pakoras in South Jordan, flavorful biryanis in Sugar House, or our signature tikka masala and freshly baked garlic cheese naan in Riverton, we’ve got a great Indian restaurant near you!

And as a locally owned business, we work, shop, worship, and live along side our neighbors. Our children go to school here. This is why we strongly believe in giving back, and supporting the people and communities we serve.

Recently, we have been using our social media platforms on Facebook and Instagram to highlight other members of our community and share their stories. Click on an image below to learn more about each person.

Camp-In for a Cause

This Girl Scouts of Utah program supports over 6,000 girls in Utah as they build courage, confidence, and character! In contribution, and on behalf of Saffron Valley, our owner Lavanya Mahate conducted a virtual cooking class for 40 people. The boxes in the picture below contained the ingredients for the class that were delivered to the participants. It was a great experience! Click an image below to learn more.

Utah Pay It Forward

Co-founded by Brian Hymel and Gavin Dickson, Utah Pay It Forward exists to uplift and support as many people as possible in our community. Serving as a reminder that “if we all do a little we can do a lot together!” Their primary focus is to help feed the most at-risk members of our community, children and adults who may not be able to leave their homes.

As an official restaurant partner, we’ve contributed 150 meal kits containing a total of 7,500 meals each week so far to feed 150 families of four for four days. In addition, we’ve donated our dining space and time to pack these provisions. Click on any picture below to learn more:

Keep Calm & Curry On

After COVID-19 hit, our essential workers in Salt Lake were overwhelmed on the frontlines. We wanted to do something to acknowledge all their hard work and sacrifices, and for us, that means feeding people.

The first week of the Keep Calm & Curry On campaign we thanked HEALTHCARE WORKERS including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists with a free Chicken Tikka Wrap plus mint and tamarind chutneys, a cookie, and soft drink. The second week we gave away a free meal for GROCERY WORKERS including managers, associates, stockers, cashiers, baggers, and delivery drivers who bring goods to the stores. The third week we provided a free meal for FIRST RESPONDERS including police officers, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and 911 dispatchers.

In total, we gave away nearly 2,000 meals as a sign of our support and appreciation.
