Experience the spirit, artistry, and history of India’s famous film industry from the classics of the black and white era and the timeless songs of Bollywood’s Golden Era to the foot-tapping blockbusters of today.
Inspired by the music of R.D. Burman, Lata Mangeshkar, and A.R. Rahman, the dance moves of superstars like Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra, and romance as captured by Raj Kapoor and Yash Raj Chopra, experience Bollywood as never before. Saffron Valley is pleased to offer a pre-show dinner at Saffron Colonial located at 26 E Street, Salt Lake City, Ut-84103. The dinner will be a Thali offering of vegetarian or regular variety. Dinner will be served at 6.00 PM after which patrons can head on over to the Kingsbury Hall for the show starting at 7.30 PM.
‘Thali’ in Hindi simply means a tray or plate made of metal- typically steel, copper or brass. A number of smaller bowls called katoris are used as cups to line the thali and filled with delicious appetizers, curries, sides and condiments. Rice and flatbreads are typically served in the center. The thali not only looks brilliant but tastes amazing with flavors ranging from sweet to sour to spicy and pungent. This is Indian umami or a feast for your senses.
Vegetarian Thali Menu:
Samosa- savory pastry filled with potatoes and green peas
Naan- clay oven baked flat bread
Rice- steamed basmati rice
Yellow Dal- simmered lentils seasoned with curry leaves
Paneer Saag- cottage cheese cubes in a spinach curry sauce
Tava Vegetables- spice sautéed vegetables
Navratan Korma- mélange of seasonal vegetables in a cream sauce
Papad- crisp lentil wafers
Chutneys and salad- condiments and bean salad
Gulab Jamun- doughnut hall in a sweet syrup
Regular Thali Menu:

Chicken Tikka Masala- grilled chicken bites in a tomato sauce
Tandoori Chicken- clay oven baked chicken drumsticks

Gulab Jamun- doughnut hall in a sweet syrup
